SL Benfica launched a great and beautiful document about Mile Svilar, told by his parents, Ratko and Marjana and his sister Dunja.
You can watch it on the official website: bit.ly/EspecialSvilar or search it on YouTube.
“A young man who likes to work, who likes life, who loves what he does. A simple kid, with his feet firmly on the ground, a young man who likes family, friends, Benfica and Portugal.” This is how Svilar is described by his mother, Marjana Svilar.
One of the most promising goalkeepers of his generation, Mile Svilar is the son of Ratko Svilar, a former Yugoslavian international who participated in the 1982 World Cup and defended the Antwerp goal for 16 years. But it was the grandfather who inherited the name. “I could not go to my father’s funeral, but I gave his name, Mile, to my son,” says Ratko Svilar in this special.
He was described by teammates in Belgium as “a working machine” and his sister, Dunja Svilar confirms the dedication and commitment of the young guardian.
